Can I getta wooooooot?! I scored an interview with Mike from SNS, and in my opinion, it is pure gold. I mean...look at that hunk in the plaid shirt up there. The boy IS pure gold... [the rest of the band is golden too, of course.] Here's what Mike had to say in responce to my questions via MySpace:
Q. Most bands have some quirky starting story. How did the band form?
A. Well my (Mike's) old band had broken up, and I wanted to start something new. So I did... :]]]
Q. If you could pick any inanimate object to represent your music, what would it be?
A. Probably a Disco Ball that was shaped like a Star.
Q. What's something from your childhood that inspired you?
A. I was inspired by Pokemon!
Q. What Michigan bands are you guys closest with?
A. We're really good friends with Atavan, and the dudes from Our Film Star are of course our homies! But you should def check out ATAVAN!
Q. Trick or treat! You guys still do the whole Halloween thing, right?! What are you guys dressing up as?
A. Steve is Tigger, Mike is a scary clown. Our new guitar player is gonna be Obama. And no one else is really doing that.
Q. What are your plans for the coming months? CD's, shows, etc?
A. We are going to New Jersey in December to record our upcoming CD with Rob Freeman(Hit The Lights, Cobra Starship, Armor For Sleep). And that CD will be release in early Febuary. We'll start touring in May. And then we'll continue touring on and on and on after that! And were gonna hit up the Detroit Warped [Tour] this year!
Q. I noticed that you guys have changed members a lot. How many band members has SNS gone through?
A. Well. SNS has only had about 6 or 7. But were just trying to find the perfect guys. We've gone through some very un-commited people. And you cant go anywhere without commitment. But our new guys are very commited. Expect SNS to soar through 2009.
Q. Boxers or man thongs?
A. Boxers...
Q. Elections are coming up! What are your views on those running?
A. OBAMA!
Q. If someone offered you a choice between an ensured relationship with your soulmate, and getting signed for the rest of your lives, which would you choose?
A. I can tell you right now that I'd stick with my lovely girlfriend. Because you don't need to be signed to be big.
Q. Fame and even just a select few fans can go to a persons head. What keeps you guys down to earth?
A. The fact that we're no different than any other person in the world. We walk, talk, and act the same. There is no reason to grow apart from our fans like most bands do. We will never let anything get to our heads. We are the most normal people you'll ever meet.
Q. Where do you see your band in 15 years? Apart, together, different?
A. Well in 15 years I'll be like 33. So I would hope that the band is together, but not at the same state we are now. Like I hope that we had made it by then, and were not just wasting our time. Haha.
